New moon blessings! Today begins anew. I begin anew!
I have a dream to teach Yoga. Today I honor this dream and make it happen! In celebration of making my dream come true, I offer you, “Seasons of Yoga”. Join me on my journey as I travel around the sun through the seasons of Yoga!
Today I woke up with deep, effervescent joy! and gratitude for this life I live, for this healthy body I have and for the abundance and beauty that surrounds me! What an honor it is to be in this body, in this house…in this place in the cosmos! What a gift it is to be alive, breathing with the plants, to get up on my own two legs and reach up with both arms and S—T—R—E—C—H to the heavens! My sun salutation became more than a prayer. It became a dance of joy and an awakening.
I wrote this in my journal while taking a bath this morning: Today I feel Buddha-full. I am voluptuous with a big smile and a hearty laugh! I hold my full, round belly with delight! Here I float in a salt water tub surrounded by lavendar flowers and clean, sweet air. For each breath I take, I give thanks. I give thanks for the plants that give me oxygen. I give thanks for this body and this life I’ve been given! In exchange for this awesome opportunity to be alive, I endeavor to live a healthy, harmonious and happy life helping others do the same! How? I will teach Yoga! I will practice Yoga daily. I will steep myself in the art and practice of Yoga so I may be a light for others to honor and care for their bodies and lives!
While in the bath, a mountainous obstacle dissolved. And I declared: I’m going to approach Yoga in a whole new way. I’m going to begin my journey by chronicling my experiences as I learn, as I practice, as I teach!
Today’s Yoga Theme: “Just Float”
Today is a holiday in the Ashtanga tradition. On the new moon and full moon some folks who practice Ashtanga observe these moon days as days of rest or holidays from the physical practice of asana.
In observance of this holy day, I decided to “just float”. I ran a fragrant herbal salt bath and meditated in the water, floating along with the lavendar flowers. Here in the water resistance dissolved, the flood gates opened and swoosh! new ideas were born! Join me on my adventure as I nurture and nourish my life through Yoga!
Love, Anna
